As part of the CooCE project activities, Flavio Pendin from EuroNewPack Srl visited the Department of Biology (DiBio) at the University of Padova to observe the performance evaluation of the BTS Biogas pilot bioreactor. This cutting-edge system demonstrates bioplastic production through CO₂ fixation, representing a significant step forward in sustainable material development. EuroNewPack is particularly enthusiastic about the potential of this innovation, with plans to explore its application within their packaging production lines. The integration of bioplastics derived from renewable CO₂ sources could revolutionize sustainable packaging and contribute to broader circular economy goals.
The visit was guided by Maria Silvia Morlino, who presented the bioreactor system and outlined its operational process. Her expertise provided invaluable insights into the bioreactor’s functionality and potential scalability. This collaboration exemplifies the CooCE project’s commitment to bridging research and industrial applications, driving innovation in sustainability and resource management.
