The NZIP Innovation Showcase, organized by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, took place on the 4th of June at the Birmingham Conference and Exhibition Centre, was a unique event where projects funded by the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio, managed by the United Kingdom government and valued at £1 billion were showcased. The participating projects included different industries, but all of them had as objective, the facilitation of the energy transition, decarbonization, and sustainable development, in order to reach the Net Zero goal. The main industries represented in the event belong to the following areas:
- Energy Production and Storage: Covering Hydrogen technologies, carbon capture usage and storage systems (CCUS) and greenhouse gas removal.
- Biomass and Bioenergy: Energy production using biomass feedstocks.
- Transportation and Electrification: Grid integration and optimization.
